The most important job of the State Treasurer is to invest the state's money safely and wisely. It's the only job in state government where making a profit is the goal. As State Treasurer, Richard will use his private-sector business background to make a profit for Hoosier taxpayers.

Promoting Education:
Richard will work hard to enhance the Indiana College Choice Investment 529 Plan. This plan helps Hoosier families save TAX FREE for their children's education. Richard will work to spread the word about new state tax credits that literally pay you back for investing in your children's future.

Support for Local Projects that Create Jobs!:
As State Treasurer and Chairman of the Indiana Bond Bank, Richard will work to help communities across Indiana fund necessary projects and allows projects to be financed at lower costs. From his past service as an elected official at the local level, Richard has a unique understanding of the import role the bond bank plays in helping local governments develop the infrastructure that leads to new jobs.

Enhancing Public Safety:
Richard will work to complete implementation of the Wireless Emergency 911 Program. When fully completed, E-911 will allow first responders to pinpoint the location of cell phone users who dial 911 during an emergency. This program WILL save Hoosier lives.
